Reference Letter - Executive Director

To Whom It May Concern:
During the dreary winter of 2005 – 2006 a special circle of women “Women With Wings” was created and nurtured by Carol Desjarlais.  I was fortunate to be in attendance for most of the Circles.

On a personal level I found the experience to by rewarding and introspective.  Carol skillfully guided us through our tragedies and triumphs to the final celebration of all of our spirits.  The relationships have continued although the group does not formally meet.

Speaking as the Director of a small Community Center, I am impressed not only by Carol’s ability but also her presentation and professionalism.  Ms. Desjarlais offered “Women With Wings” as volunteer but outperformed our highest paid seminars.

Congratulations on choosing Ms. Desjarlais for your project and enjoy her many talents.

Sincerely,

Executive Director
Bridgton Community Center

Testimonial From Lucy, my teaching assistant for two years way up in the far Dene Northland.

Dear Shewolf,

Thank you so very much for all the beautiful gifts you offered to me and given back to the surrounding earth angels.  There is nothing greater than giving and sharing all the love that you have.  Great appreciation goes out to someone special like you.  You have touched many souls with your powerful speeches and encouragement.  Your compassionate heart is extremely warm and open.  Here is a poem for you:

You inspire me in so many ways
Full of Love and Joy
Touching souls to Feel and Heal
Sacrifice your being to the world
How precious a being could be
Kind
Honest
Gentle
Beautiful intentions of grace could be
Being creation of the Creator’s instrument
How love could be
What a gorgeous gift you are…
You are a gifted spirit full of illumination
Hmm…Humble
Glass-like medicine eyes
Sparkling
Shining aura around you…
In the spirit of Healing

Lucy

Testimonial - Richard Doiron

Fighting the good fight - Richard Doiron, poet

In my estimation, Carol Desjarlais is a shining example of what principled means.
It has been my pleasure and privilege to know this woman and to have an ongoing
exchange of ideas with her for quite some time now.

There is mystery in this person also. Visionaries are like that. It goes beyond
introspection, into grasping that which is unseen also. Adhering to the ideal that
the truth indeed sets us free, this person leaves no stones unturned in her quest
to know and to set the record right. Meanwhile, allowing for human limitations, she
also very adroitly makes allowances for all of our faux pas.

The “teacher” knows the role of the pupil self, and Carol Desjarlais lets others speak
with equal enthusiasm, allowing that they are here to teach her as well. The project
we call life then becomes a matter of mutual exchanges. In this approach, naturally,
we find the wisdom of the ages:

to accept that there are limits is to see the disintegration of such limits, opening
the portals into the forever expanse. Carol Desjarlais knows there is no end to the
learning process, that atoms indeed do spin into infinity. Perhaps there is nothing
new under the sun, merely a rearranging of things, but we yet need reminders of
such things, and our poets and prophets have their ways of sparking enlightenment.

The truths captured and expounded upon by this person, Carol Desjarlais, are the
stuff of life, from the mundane to the majestic. There is never-ending candor found, yes,
but there is also a fair portion of humor and lightheartedness implied. Forever seeking
to attain a balance, a connection made between all things, and all things being
equal (in what they are), much has to be absorbed from such an absorbing source.

It is to do ourselves justice to enshrine the doctrine of justice into all of our
affairs, and this one fights the good fight.

Share the journey with Carol Desjarlais. It’s good for the soul. But, then, it’s
a wide path upon which she treads, one that allows for the footsteps of others
along the way.

The Gentle Spirit - Bob Hardison

The Gentle Spirit

How does one speak about a gentle spirit,
A soul of compassionate service to the ONE?
The soul that sees into the Nature of the Creator
By seeing the Creator-Nature in all people and things.

The joy of She Wolf’s spirit joined with mine a decade ago,
A chance communication on the Web with all its strands,
How interwoven the ways of the Creator’s children.
Hok!! Mitakuye oyasin, maka sitomni, hetch etu welo!

Yes!! All are my relatives, all things on earth, it is indeed so!
From her sure knowingness of that one simple truth
Gives strength and purpose to all her endeavors in this life,
She sees not our differences but how much we are alike.

She Wolf comes to us in her poetry with the Full Realization
That the Visible World is but a part of a GREATER SPIRITUAL WORLD,
That the Spiritual World and the Visible World are ONE REALITY.

From experience, the hard path of living and learning along the Red Road,
She Wolf speaks from the Heart of Creator to the Heart of Man.
Knowing full well to receive true spiritual guidance,
One must deal with the past, have faith in the future,
But live in the present. In that we are indeed ONE!

From Earth we are created,
From imagination we are uplifted,
From history we are transcended,
We are the Past, Present and Future,
We are Now.

The fruit of the Spirit is Gentleness, Patience, Kindness
Self-Control, Love, Faithfulness, Joy, Peace, Goodness.
All these we find in She Wolf Native, a teacher and a learner
We shall name Carol Desjarlais. Hok! Mitakuye oyasin, hecitu welo!

These are things that we know, She Wolf and I together.
Peace and happiness are available in every moment.
Peace is in every step. We shall learn to walk hand in hand.
There are no political or religious solutions to spiritual problems.

Remember, If the Creator put it there,
It is in the right place.
The soul would have no rainbow
If the eyes had no tears.

We know that ALL must be brought
Into the Sacred Hoop for it to be mended.
We often wonder how we will bring those
Who do not see even the simplest of Circles
Into the greatest Circle of all.

Then we remember it is a thing
That has been promised by Spirit.
That is how we know it shall come to be.

May this day be one of Grace and Gratitude,
That we may know peace and be content,
FULLY ALIVE to the Sufficiency of Grandfather’s Grace,
And the Generosity of our Earth Mother.

Love and Peace, Barefoot Windwalker

Carol Desjarlais - Eagle Woman - is a Medicine Woman to her very bones. Her modesty about this gift leads her to see beyond the obvious. My sisterhood with Carol has become a sacred passage for me. She lives simply and her message is spoken quietly and directly. She is inspired by her Creator - of that I am sure - and has been blessed with a great sense of humor. Carol’s truth runs so clean that I asked her to be the official spokesperson for the theme of Soul Gifts: The World’s Self-Help Book. She said, “Yes.” (you can reference back to the book on my website when the time comes if you like) Barbara J Gill, RN , New Brunswick, Canada
